Posting guideline (updated 10/23/2006)
outie - 10-10-2003 at 10:22 AM

This website is organized differently than other forums where one can reply anything he wants. In order to keep the quality of the site, I am going to delete posts that don't follow the rules:

Threads:
- MUST BE INTERESTING
- post your xanga entry in your own xanga
- meaningful subject
- good content (No text-only topic, no first person-related subjects, post jokes in The Alley)
- use proper English
- no questions
- no religious/political discussions
- no news article
- no link-only topics
- 8 pics per thread max and no, it does not mean you post another 8 pics in a new thread called part 2. You post everything in one thread no matter what.
- request *only* for mp3s
- no market item advertisement unless photo attached
- no caps subject
- when in doubt about reposted subject, don't post to risk your $$$
- all random stuff in ONE thread and YES that includes videos
- don't try to separate threads to earn money
- do not post multiple threads in a row
- no hotlinking pictures from other sites. Slow and unreliable and the other sites don't like it.
- no advertisment (contact me for more info)
- no referral craps (free ipod, free whatever by referrals) :: BAN
- no child porn
- asian-related please
- no warez

If a thread is deleted, that means it violated one of the guidelines or it was not worthy. Don't post a new thread asking why.

Replies/Comments:
- no one worder
- no smiley replies
- use proper English
- no useless comments
- no meaningless comments
- no expressions replies
- no CAPS reply
- no arguments
- no need to say something just for the sake of it
- no need to tell us what you see in the pic
- no need to say "photoshopped" when you see, or think the images are photoshopped
- no double+ posts (don't reply to self)
- no score-only replies on flash games
- no need to tell us "repost" (if you've seen it, skip it)
- stay in topic
- if previous replies have stated something already you do not need to repeat it
- don't ask for more pictures
- don't ask who's in the pic
- don't complain about SHAVE. Your concern won't make any difference.
- don't ask stupid questions no one can answer
- don't say "I think this, I think that" that no one cares about
- don't tell us your preference/what you like. We don't care.
- when in doubt, no post
- no one is forcing you to reply
- no excitement replies. Everything is cool here
- BE UNIQUE

General:
- Don't attach BMPs!
- respect others
- respect the rules

Sample junks:
"speechless, I don't know what to say"
"agree, yada yada"
"nothing special"
"haha .... ... ... lol"
"i'd hit her"
"nice!"
"I like x pic"
"blah blah but she's cute"
"first pic is nice, last is ugly"
"she looks like someone I know"
"I think if she do this she'll look better"
"I like how she blah blah"
"Does anyone know her name"
"Can someone post her video"
"Can you post more pics"
"Look at how they.. look at that"
"[subject] [verb] [adj/object]"

pig - 10-10-2003 at 10:49 AM

yea people, make conversations in AIM or MSN. not fun to see u replying each other's off topic posts.

idiot - 10-10-2003 at 06:30 PM

Good guidelines, I'm sure the post number will decrease so much.

Now, what about thread starting guidelines?

outie - 10-10-2003 at 06:45 PM

There isn't a definite thread guideline. I delete anything I want.

IllusionX - 10-10-2003 at 11:59 PM

oh well, here's something funny
but i did some of that just Hmm before reading this..

so i'm gonna be deleted? :(

outie - 10-11-2003 at 12:35 AM

The mods and I will be the judge.

Daijoubu - 1-13-2004 at 05:21 PM

Heya, new here, X-Brain gave me the link, althrough i already frequent bunch of forums, this is the one of it kinds :)

Any signature size limit? Searched, but didn't find anything
Thank you outie for your gracious bandwidth :D and good luck with your hosting business

outie - 1-24-2004 at 08:45 PM

There is not really a limit for sig size unless it distorts the forum template.

I created this forum mainly for own pressure because there are so much stuff on the net that's rather interesting. If I can keep everything I've read in a database, I'll have my own knowledgebase. I never really intend to let the world know about this site. I only put its link on my signature in the cliesource forum and that's pretty much it. The words just spread around among you Canadians and it is further expanded when people posted certain topics from here on other forums. Not my original intention but I can't help it. But then it's pretty cool to see members signing up everyday. If every member makes at least one post I'd be sooo much happier. But it's a forum... that's how it works, with members signing up just to view certain restricted stuff. Anyways, I hope you enjoy it.

Jaiesun - 2-4-2004 at 09:07 PM

one question....is there a easy way of making money?

outie - 2-7-2004 at 10:35 PM

Gamble is suppose to be the "easy" way to make risky money. Another easy way without posting junks is sell something at the Market.

That doesn't you can post junks to make easy money. A deleted post is worth more than a new post.

idiot - 2-8-2004 at 08:17 PM

you should make this thread sticky.

Daijoubu - 3-7-2004 at 01:33 AM

It's already sticky'ed on the main page :)

aznstyle - 4-19-2004 at 06:31 PM

darn now i gotta say something besides :hit: when i see a hot chick posted :X hehe like comment on their nice breast size :P

mz_danni - 4-21-2004 at 08:54 PM

question, is there a limit on creating new topic w/ attachments?

cuz i cant seem to post attachments on my 2nd topic.

outie - 4-22-2004 at 11:43 PM

No limit. You may want to try again.

outie - 5-4-2004 at 07:29 PM

Go to the market and add your item there. Yes you can sell xxx-pics.

Is there a file size limit?

outie - 5-10-2004 at 06:42 PM

The limit at the market is 100mb.

Eenis - 5-26-2004 at 09:38 AM

I may be interested in posting to the market........is the 100mb limit per file, post, or per member?

outie - 5-26-2004 at 06:10 PM

per file.

BYS2 - 10-6-2004 at 05:04 PM

this only applies when starting a thread.

outie - 11-4-2004 at 07:39 PM

Make sure your comment is meaningful and unique in some sense.

Or, look at other replies as reference (hopefully you are not looking at the junk replies).

Chi - 11-4-2004 at 07:40 PM

What a coincidence, its updated when I come back... but what happened to the "banned ppls list" ? and did u finaly decided to delete the gamble section? or is it my comp (cause i get lots of viruses that mess up explorer)

btw, i like your new posting policies, no junk threads!

outie - 11-4-2004 at 07:47 PM

Banned ppl list has been takened off because I don't have time to maintain it. I just ban those who violated the rules on purpose immediately.

Gamble section will come back in the near future.

monkey - 11-7-2004 at 09:54 PM

do yu get penalized if yu post a topic in the wrong section of the forum?

outie - 11-8-2004 at 02:45 PM

No.

nyxcalm - 11-11-2004 at 02:24 PM

You know, maybe you should open up a real outie E-store, with merchandise, t-shirts, mousepads and such.

I think it'd take off some.

"Got Outie?" :P

food for thought

pander_killer - 11-12-2004 at 06:04 AM

hey how come i got banned? is it forbidden to ask questions relating to the topics posted?

dark rider - 11-17-2004 at 11:04 PM

Why do the money penalty thing apply to everyone who posted in a topic? It should be just the topic creator that's penalized, not the ones who posted good post on the topics.

As far as I remember only the thread creator gets penalized.

Are you gonna fix it then, or will that be the official rule now?

outie - 11-24-2004 at 10:06 PM

I have to take a look at the code first. If it's too much work I will leave it.

EDIT: Should be fixed now. Replyers of deleted thread should not be penalized.

aznharrison - 12-1-2004 at 05:09 PM

how do you upload pictures on a thread?

Hisaishi - 12-2-2004 at 01:41 PM

you get some site to host it, then use the IMG command when posting...

asuran - 12-17-2004 at 10:49 AM

I notice there is a warn lvl added...

how does it work?... like 3 warnings and you're out or how many warning pts do u get for doing this or that etc...

outie - 12-17-2004 at 12:14 PM

This thread explains how warning works.

well rules are rules, this is outies forum and he can make any rules he wants that's his privilege.... but yeah this forum is a bit on the strict side I reckon.... but still it's pretty good... not much conversations or discussion, so that's kind of why there aren't that many girls around... u know, girls like to say things on their mind

if u look around u'll see that most of the stuff posted around here are girl's pics; porn; and cars.

girls aren't as interested in these things as guys are.

:(

outie - 1-22-2005 at 01:40 PM

I have emphasized million times that this is not a traditional forum where you just LOL and COOL the replies. People should only post topics for people to enjoy.

sux because of banning and deleting? Have you been affected? I truely doubt it, noob.

nyoneway - 1-24-2005 at 07:38 PM

Why only 8 pics? I wish you can change it to more... perhaps 12?

asuran - 1-24-2005 at 09:06 PM

Quote:

saves bandwidth... and prevents threads to go thru many pages so that there might be repost of pics in 3 or 4 pages before etc etc... or sth like this I guess...

outie - 1-24-2005 at 09:24 PM

8 is a good number ;)

Well a thread w/ more than 8 pics loads pretty slow for some people. Then, imagine such thread always gets new replies. Some people who have already seen this thread will probably go back to this thread to see the _replies_. Don't you see a problem there?

Besides, what needs more than 8 pics? Your own photo album? So you can share the thread with all of your relates? I don't think so ;)

nyoneway - 1-24-2005 at 09:33 PM

Does that 8 limit includes pics hosted in other sites? I mean if I have my own server does still limited?

outie - 1-25-2005 at 01:42 AM

Well, the problem is, I don't see the point of having more than 8 pics for a particular topic.

You can link images from other sites but then they die (become red X) pretty soon. That is one disadvantage of linking pictures. The other problem is speed. I cannot ensure the places you link from are always up to speed. You will eventually bring down the overall performance of my site by linking pics (like some people ALWAYS like to do and NEVER learn).

k9cheung - 3-5-2005 at 08:04 PM

i cant find ta posting guidelines at first....u should put it sumwhere more visible.....i had two warnings then i finally found ta guidelines....never make those mistakes again.....

ekoshyun - 3-9-2005 at 02:05 AM

Sorry, but I really thought this was a forum just for seeing new stuff, hearing new news, and seeing pictures of sexy girls, but if the money system is that important, then I quit.

I have no idea what is there to complain about if you don't care about money? Just see your new stuff, hear your new news, see your pictures of sexy girls. Why the money issue affects you? I am very confused. Care to explain more?

Oh wait... in addition to what you want to do here (SEE stuff), you also made silly comments? So that's what you are complaining about. Well, bye bye then.

HAHA, yeah Outie's right... you don't need money to view the forums. The only thing money's good for is buying stuff in the market.

Or maybe ekoshyun is just sick of the all the problems that stem from the money system.

outie - 3-14-2005 at 12:10 AM

If I had unlimited bandwidth and resources, I'd definitely do away the money system. That, however, will never happen.

Just curious, but if all active outie members donated $1 a month, how much would that add up to? I used to have a Paypal account that I used for eBay, but the credit card I had registered on it has expired :( ... maybe I could send cash at my own risk?

outie - 3-16-2005 at 01:50 AM

It's okay don't risk anything.

Isn't it easy to calculate. $1 each member and we have 3000 members. But out of those 3000 about 600 members visit in one day. So if those 600 members donate $1 month, we can get $600!

omega - 3-16-2005 at 09:17 PM

Expect a donation shortly, I'm sending it through a friend's paypal account. :)

azncow - 3-17-2005 at 08:20 AM

warsong_khan - 3-24-2005 at 10:25 PM

First off I wish to thank the dudes for giving me tips on posting and pointing out the errors...But please forgive me as I am confuse about what to post in what thread and which not to post?? As I thought I had fulfill the requirements of the guidelines...

P.S. You have a wonderful forum here...Better than a lot I have visisted

outie - 3-28-2005 at 06:36 PM

Just make some thoughtful comments and you'll be fine.

materia - 10-18-2005 at 11:50 PM

I think I saw a -50 for deleting a thread. Not sure but buying a lowering warning things is pretty pricey

You also earn $50 for making that thread so you have nothing to lose. Plus, you don't get a warning from thread removal.

@normandy: no, but you should refrain from doing that because the mods are sensitive about thread/post flooding.

ileex3 - 1-20-2006 at 05:12 PM

wow so many guidelines and rules...i just registered and i got a posted deleted...im scared now...this is a very different forum to keep up with.. >.< gotta be careful...;)

jason_bourne001 - 1-23-2006 at 07:17 PM

it's a good thing i read this first cause i do tend to answer with one liners. hehehe

shadowwraith - 1-31-2006 at 12:33 AM

I'm really sorry if this is a dumb question to ask, but I would like to be clear on a couple of things before I start posting in this forum and possibly screw things up.

So the max post of pictures in "1" thread is 8 only. What if we want to post more pictures of a particular girl to share with others? How far does this forum keep old web pages, because I prefer not to post repeat threads of pics and such. How fast does the money counter come into effect and do only certain replies in certain topics give $$$?

Thanks for your patience, help and advice you can give me.

I don't think we've set a limit on # of pics you can add to a thread but I'd keep it to 4 at most.

What do you mean money counter come into effect? You are rewarded outie-money when you post a thread/reply (outside of the alley). You are deducted the money if you post was deleted, however your warning level will increase. There are no different in money earned/rewarded for interesting post or not, but ALL POST SHOULD BE INTERESTING! No reposting! No simple links! :) Have fun, good luck ;) ;)

Thanks for the info Rukawa :D To make sure I got this right, I can post more pictures in a thread, but for 'max' per post yes? And it would be ok to string a couple of posts together if they were pics right? I know double/triple posting on forums are somewhat ridiculous, especially when it comes to rewards/penalties.

As for the outie money, anything posted except in specific areas such as (The Alley) [or even in these 2 main sections]awards money, yes?

Thanks again for your assistance.

I would limit the # of pictures you ADD to a thread. If you have lots of share and they're new, upload it to the market and share that way. Always remember to upload the images and not link them. Hot-Linking = delete, it doesnt matter if you host it or not.

Money is rewarded as long as you post in the forums that reward it.

aikon - 2-6-2006 at 07:07 PM

is there an appeal process for a deleted msg? I mean I just got a msg deleted.. it was relavent and I do not see how it violates the posting guidelines. no explaination was given. all I got was some generic msg. I suggest we should have an appeal process.

aikon - 2-9-2006 at 09:12 AM

outie, do you ever reply to this section? I got a warning and I still dont' understand why exactly was my post in breach of the posting guideline. This simply discourages me to post my comments in risk of getting another level. :(

marz - 2-9-2006 at 01:15 PM

aikon, sometimes we won't know why our post got deleted even though we feel it didn't break any of the rules

another thing, don't post twice in succession. it's not the right thing to do here..

you'll learn

aikon - 3-6-2006 at 12:58 PM

ok i just got another warning level... there really needs to be an appeal scheme for this. There were many other comments similar to mine in the Nasty killing the kitten's thread. the fact that I simply get a message saying that i did not follow the guidelines without specifically pointing to which one does not show what I did wrong.

Let's put this into perspective...
You are driving along. You get pulled over and you are given a fine for violating traffic law(s). That is all you are told.

What traffic law(s) did you violate specifically? You can't find out as the message does not let you reply. You review the traffic laws and compare what you have done in your memory, and try to stretch to violations to encompass yourself, but you are never certain. Was it speeding (meaningless replies)? I believe I wasn't (I believe there was a meaning to it). Other cars were going at that speed and I was following traffic (there were other posts in the thread along the same lines that didn't get deleted). If you feel you've been wrongfully fined, you get to challenge the violation... We need something like that here.

Perhaps even open an Appeal Court Section where ppl's posts believe they have been wrongfully deleted may post about it with a vote (jury system). Give it a week's time, and if the majority is to allow that person to regain his points, the warning level should be lowered. It'll add another element of interactiveness on Outie.net and allow those who have been wrongfully acquitted a chance to show they are innocent.

it's just quite frustrating for having my msgs deleted for no comprehendible reason.

outie - 3-6-2006 at 05:35 PM

@shadowwraith & Rukawa:
The maximum is 8 pictures per new thread (2 posts of 4 pics each). You cannot make a new thread saying "pictures part 2" for another 8 pictures. You cannot have more than 8, no exception. This is for fairness.

@aikon:
We do not have and will not have an appeal system. If your post(s) were removed you need to change your style of posting. Given the amount of disqualified posts on this site we do not have the resources to address EVERY deleted post with a reason attached. When you see posts that you think disqualified, you REPORT them just like people who reported your posts. You are not helping much by saying similar posts did not get deleted but yours did. We do not scan for every thread. We simply come across them and remove as needed.

ryan_pogi - 3-10-2006 at 02:09 AM

question lord outie,
is there a restriction on creating a thread? lets say maximum thread creation per (day or forum)?

i've just created 5 threads today and 3 of them got deleted . . . thought 2 of the threads just have 1 photo attached ("Paris Hilton moment" in the Nasty section and an "Old School Playboy 1968 - Gwen Wong" in the Nude section).

if its a trash, i apologise.

more power to you.

ryan_pogi - 3-12-2006 at 08:50 PM

it really suck if they dont like you :(.
though im not a frequent poster, im trying my best to post more interesting stuff and comments, yet, to the eyes of the outie mods, its not good enough .

instead of using my outie money to buy mp3s in the market, im used my outie money to buy back my warning :nono:

oh well, it suck to be me :D

thanx normandy.

awdark - 3-28-2006 at 11:41 AM

I dont understand the point of replying if we can't share our opinions.
Most of the reply guidelines govern how we shouldn't reply to share our opinions.
I can understand the stupid 1 word replies I see or the random single smilie replies. But its like you don't want to see conversation at all.
Heck I see conversation here: http://outie.net/forums/viewthread.php?tid=18713#
why dont they all get warnings?!

Correct, we do not want conversations. I have said many times, just look at the content and leave. There is really no need to reply. I can't do away replies completely because if people need to attach more files then they have to reply. If you find any bad replies, you report them.

what does buy back warning do?? and how can I buy back warning. I know it's a stupid question... I new and I'm pretty lost... sorry if I've made any mistake....

tekstyle - 10-13-2006 at 09:18 PM

i really want to follow the guidelines and PM the admin or the moderator, but I don't know how to do that because I don't see a PM button anywhere on the admin/mod's post. So therefore I will post here. How do I PM? and while I am at it. what's all this money thing? Is it just credit to gain certain access or power on this forum or is it really money? I ask because I do not remember giving out any CC, or bank info except my paypal ID when first sign up for this site.

xcess - 10-14-2006 at 06:44 AM

xcess - 10-14-2006 at 06:48 AM

i really don't wan to break the rules of outie.net but why i post 4 picture of import cars but why it been deleted i don't understand at all

outie - 10-23-2006 at 09:08 AM

@Usagi: There's no buy back warning system any more. It's obsolete
@tekstyle: "U2U" is equivalent to PM, money is just a posting-reward program. It's just equivalent to "points" that you can use to redeem market items.
@xcess: I guess you hotlinked the pictures.

i had post a few thread mostly with picture and music file attached but the result i get is only my writing appeared. no attachment. i think i got the regulation correct with no bmp format goes and the music file i think i am sending the mp3 format (maybe mix with mpeg, wmv or wma - i think this is a sin). and one more think about this code . hoe this code work?
