ASUS S6: a compact duo core notebook in leather



ASUSTeK Computer has release a leather notebook ASUS S6, which was shown on the eve of the CeBIT show in March. In its press release the company pays much attention to the high quality of leather applied in the notebook. This is the main peculiarity of the model.
As for the technical specs, the notebook is based on Intel Centrino Duo platform with Intel Core Duo L2300 or L2400 processors. This is a compact model equipped with an 11.1” widescreen LCD. Naturally there is the support of Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g) and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR. The company paid attention to longer battery life achieved due to automatic power control technology ASUS Power4 Gear+, which sets 8 modes depending on system state.

Processor Intel Core Duo L2300 or L2400
Chipset Intel 945GM
Up to 1.5 GB DDR2 RAM
HDD 60, 80, 100 or 120 GB
Wireless adapter Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Bluetooth 2.0 EDR
3 USB ports, card-reader and Express Card slot
Dimensions 270x191x22.5-37 mm
Weight – 1.37 or 1.53 kg (depending on the battery)

Hmm...it looks pretty cool in leather...good idea~!! Plus, its small and light...thats what I like the most!! Hmm...by looking at the specifications you gave...it could be a pretty good notebook...but I wonder if its gonna be expensive because of its leather casing....;)

that laptop would be pretty hot if it starts heating up, i mean, laptops can get very very heated up.

The specs are exactly the same as mine except it so much lighter! I am having second thoughts about buying a 15.4" widescreen vaio now...its pretty damn heavy!

im gonna have to say no to this.. leather absorbs heat... unless its different kind of leather that doesnt .. i wouldnt even consider buying it... that thing is gonna heat up like what wonderboy said... and the leathers gonna start melting ... and its gonna start stinking... and the laptops gonna overheat before you know... complete waste of money...

very aesthetically pleasing, but not practical. so much stuff could mess up that leather
