I'm guessing that it runs wirelessly with 1 USB port for mouse/External HD/External Optical drive?
There isn't even a spec on that thing?

I wonder how sturdy it is... Being thin like that, I can imagine that the laptop wouldn't even last one fall to the ground. Aluminium body...
Something so thin, yet so powerful. You have to give it to them for that.

- who would actually buy 2 batteries (we always keep the same)
- no need for an express card anymore
- no need for ethernet port, everyone goes wireless these
days.
-maybe there's no cd drive but we all go with flash these days, and beside this macbook as some feature to load a cd from a remote cd rom which is
quite fancy if I might add.

Battery replacement in the future has to be done through Apple, at $120 a pop, or something crazy like that..
Express card is thoroughly needed for the typical road warrior. HSDPA or EVDO, and it doesn't look like this notebook has it built in..
Ethernet is used alot by me when transferring files takes too long through WiFi though it does have n, which is still in draft isn't it?
Yeah the remote CD is good, but I mean what if you're on the run, in class, or somewhere in a meeting, "Oh Jim, check out the PPT on this CD i
burned" you're SOL in those situations.
Keeping with the Apple theme, firewire would've been nice

This unit is expensive - true, and it's not for everyone. But there are people out there who are in the market for ultra portability.
My wife is a graphic designer and she currently lugs around a Macbook Pro for presentations. Problem is it weighs a ton. And now that she's
pregnant, I wouldn't want her carrying around all this extra weight.
I don't think Apple missed the point on this one at all; in fact they're bang on. Apple's selling point for this unit is not it's features but
rather for complete wireless portability. Would you try to justify the cost of an energy efficient car with it's features? This thing only weighs
about 3 pounds, measures 3/4 inch high and has a 5 hr battery life. Incidentally, there is a USB ethernet adapter and external optical drive available
for it.
Although it does eliminate some features for weight/size savings reasons, it makes up for it with it's super cool OLED screen. And yes, the optional
solid state hard drive is ridiculously expensive but how many units out there come with either of these. This unit is sweet and I believe it will be
setting the trend for the next generation notebook.

i would have to agree
the only reason i would buy this is because its so goddamn light
im thinking of investing in a laptop for university and i don't really want to be lugging around an inspiron 600m....
