1.) Download the 5.0 Firmware...it will be an EXE file.
2.) Install the Desktop Manager if you havent already...
3.) Install the firmware in step 1...
4.) Connect your BB via USB Cable...
at this point the desktop manager will either tell you there is a new firmware update or not.
good luck

This is how I update my OS. Use at your own risk, I do not hold responsibility if you mess up.
Download latest OS
plug BB via USB
open DM; backup your BB
backup third party apps
Unplug BB from computer
install OS .exe file
Plug BB back into computer
Wipe current OS with BBSAK (this will give you error 505; don't worry this is normal)
Keep BB plugged in
Open DM (will prompt you to update OS, select cancel)
click on Application Loader
Select what to install.
Press next and let it install
Wait until it's complete then do a battery pull.
Enjoy!
DO NOT! I repeat DO NOT! unplug while it's loading the OS or until it says Operation is Complete or else you will brick your BB
How To Backup Third Party APPs
-plug BB via USB to computer
-open DM
-click Device Switch Wizard
-under Switch Blackberry Device press start
-right side under Options uncheck everything except for Third-party Applications
-click next
-when it's done don't close anything
-search your computer using Windows Search (make sure in windows you check find Hidden files)
-when you locate the file make sure it matches your PIN number
-copy the Folder with your PIN number and the .ALX file on to your desktop
To load back your Third party Apps, open DM and use APP loader
-make sure you uninstall the OS you have downloaded from your computer
-click on browse and search for the file with your PIN number on it.
-click next
after it's done do a battery pull and you're set.
+REP if this helped!!
