San Francisco Food

Well, I'm in San Fransico right now. And I want to know what is good to eat here. Anything is within my price range, not trying to sound cocky. I'm willing to try out all types of food.

I just ate some Taqueria Can-Cun, it was freaking delicious. But I ate it at 10:15ish, and it's pretty dark out, and it's really dangerous at night. I was pretty scared myself. So many transvestites, and crazy homeless black people. I want to try some food that's exotic and rare. Thanks for the suggestions.

My home is SF. For great Mexican food, go to the mission district. Great burrito shops and taco trucks there. On Irving there's good viet food. Chinatown obviously for Chinese food. There is a great Indian restaurant in tenderloin area.

Just avoid the overpriced restaurants in the Union Square area. The food is mediocre but the prices are sky high.

i cant think of anything exotic and rare at the moment....
but there's also little star pizza which is pretty good and The House is a nice little asian fusion restaurant that's a bit pricier....
All the good food places are generally in areas where there are homeless people and creepy transvestites..for example the mission/valencia/18th street area where theres a lot of really good restaurants.
Monk's Kettle is also a nice restaurant/bar, they have a huge selection of beer with a lot of local brews. And if you're going to be in that general area, theres a really good ice cream place called birite. Definitely stop by there.

and if you just want to get some simple bbq pork...this place hands down has the best in the city

I think some of these places have already been recommended, but here goes:

I went to this pizza joint in Mission SF called Flour and Water. Lots of hype and long lines, reservations needed.

For Dim Sum:
Koi Palace in Daly City

For Ice Cream:
Bi-Rite.

For German Brats:
Schmidt's (2400 Folsom st. SF)

I have to second Bi-Rite for ice-cream (salted-caramel)

Across from Bi-Rite is Pizzeria Delfina. They have some of the best thin-crusts in the Bay Area.

Just went to SF for spring break.

+1 for Bi-Rite ice cream. Not so much their yogurt.

Went to Turtle Tower for chicken pho, their noodles taste fresh and their egg rolls tasted great. Egg roll was pricey at 2.50 each.

I liked the clam chowed from the blue mermaid over the one by the pier.

I wish I went to some better pizza shops.

Any one heard of a viet guy raised in France that works in a supermarket in the deli that makes awesome moist burgers some how by aligning the grains of the meat? I wasn't able to find the market's location, a name would be appreciated if any one knows.
