Weight gain, workout time?
So I am planning to gain more weight now but haven't really figured out what the best time would be to workout.
I've gone for several months in the morning (approx. 7 - 8) and a couple of months after work (7 - 8, sometimes later). My question, which one would
be more effective, not considering muscles being more flexible and warm, but more the current amount of calories in your body.
Is it still effective to go in the morning even with the less calories in the morning compared to the evening?
Any experience, suggestions? Thanks

I'm guessing you're asian and have a fast metabolism. I am guessing you're an ectomorph, meaning you have a hard time gaining weight.
I would suggest you check out http://www.2buildmusclefast.com/p/muscle-building-routines-muscle.html for some routines. That's just what exercises to do to
help you gain muscle mass, the other 50% is diet. You will most likely have to eat everything in sight to gain weight. Eat a lot of pastas for the
complex carbohydrates, but don't underestimate veggies and fruits for the vitamins.
That's the jist of it, there's a lot more but that should get you started. 50% is working out, but the other 50% is diet. eat eat eat
Edit: Always have something in your stomach so that you have energy for your muscles for the work out. Morning is fine, but you have to eat something
earlier or you're going to eat your muscles away if you're an ectomorph.

@ Helscreamer - Thanks. Eating isn't a problem. Ever since I changed my diet, ate more, started to workout, I did gain weight. It was the workout
time that I was curious about. Since I usually don't eat a lot / heavy in the morning, I was just curious whether that would be impacting my gain.
But I guess you already answered that question.
@ Fruitopia - Olive oil? O_o

I have problem gaining weight too... I am active but not really heavy on food. I might try adding pasta to see if that helps. And olive oil??

olive oil is a healthy way to gain weight. Just add it to everything; dip bread in it, add it to pasta, pizza whatever. But since you're more
interested in workout time then I suggest working out in the evening. Morning workouts (especially before breakfast) helps you burn more fat. But you
should note that weight control is a simple addition/subtraction on the amount of calories you consume vs the amount you burn during the day.

I think that from experience, working out in the morning and going to work afterwards has helped my muscles with fatigue more than at night. After
working out, because my work functions require me to walk a lot, it helps stretch out the muscles...making them less sore. Working out at night
generally gives me sorer muscles the 2nd day after. It might be because I work out around 9-11 pm and then I refuel and I fall asleep. I would
recommend if you want to get stronger, rather just building muscle...to work out in the morning and evening. Morning you would do your weights and
evening you could do your endurance/cardio. That's just from my experience.

That's some good advice, but that might be for mesomorphs or endomorph body types. It depends on your body type, you have to consume more calories
than what you're burning if you want to gain weight. If you want to lean out, then yeah, do some cardio.

They have some good advice too on supplements and stuff.
